RRX: Every comic book hero has an origin story. What is your origin story? (points if you tell it like a comic book origin.)

Ohzhe : In the bustling streets of Albany NY, a young artist named Ohzhe discovered his extraordinary gift: the power to weave words into spells, captivating hearts and minds. Born from the fusion of Albany’s urban grit and his southern roots, he honed his craft, transforming into a lyrical superhero. Harnessing the energy of his city, he became a beacon of hope, using his charisma and versatility to forge connections with his audience. But it wasn’t just about the music; Ohzhe saw beyond the stage, recognizing his duty to uplift his community. From his humble beginnings to his rise as a force to be reckoned with in the rap game, Ohzhe’s journey is one of inspiration, empowerment, and the relentless pursuit of pushing culture forward. With each verse, he sparks change, leaving an indelible mark on the world as the embodiment of hip-hop’s resilience and spirit.

RRX: Tell me about your most recent song, album, or video (you pick.) Tell us a story about what went into making it. Not a process, but a cool story that took place within the process.

Ohzhe :  In 2019 I created an Album called Grwth 2. It was a lead up from my 5 track EP called Growth. Grwth 2 was an album about transparency, shadow work, nature,  and essentially growth as person. At this time Covid-19 had shut the world down which forced me to focus in on my craft and get real with myself. I had spent so much time in nature that I came up with a concept that in order for you to get the full experience of the project you have to be in nature. The theme is about me finding cassette tapes with written instructions on it basically implying to dive deeper within

RRX: It’s a lot of fun living in the present, but we all collect memories and give birth to dreams. We’re talking dreams here. Where you see yourself next year? In the next five years?

Ohzhe : You know, I can’t really say. The universe has a funny way of pushing you in different directions. Just a few years ago I was for an anti gun violence program committed to reducing gun violence. Now I’m working for Stage One Cannabis Dispensary. I feel like I’m here to be of service. Where Id hope to be is financially secure, healthy and thriving creatively.

RRX: What do you think is the most poorly understood thing about music, or the music    you play?

Ohzhe : Creatively I don’t think I’m misunderstood. I think it’s more business wise that I might be confusing to some . Like I’m not chasing the same thing everyone is in regards to being an artist. From the outside looking into the industry I notice things that kinda turn me off so I choose alternatives that fit the path I’m on. My idea of success changes alot. Especially the more I learn. I guess that’s just the difference between an Emcee and a rapper.

RRX: Love is a big part of music. We’re talking first loves here. Lots of cool stories about first loves and the things we do for those loves. Can you (or, in the case of a band, one member) talk about your first love, especially if you did something cool to express that love? (No names needed.)

Ohzhe: My first love, would probably be writing. It helped me with understanding my emotions more. Being able to create stories, rhyme words and read them helped create a sense of pride. As a kid I would read the dictionary. Whenever I got in trouble in school that’s something they’d make us do. Before rapping, I was a poet and creative writer. I wrote stories about my favorite characters from movies and video games and just brought them together to create a narrative I thought would be cool.

RRX: In the musical world, there are many supporting players. Recording engineers, sound techs, cover art designers. Who are three people that support the craft that you would like to shine a spotlight at?
